Training to be an EMT
Training to be an EMT

Well it seems that I havent written in a while so I will update. I have completed a semester of college (Mineral Area College... Go Cards!) My Major is in Applied Sciences ( My Associates will be for a Paramedics Licence.) So here I am attempting (for the 3rd time) the NREMT (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.) This is a VERY difficult test, and no matter how hard I study it seems out of reach. I think very positively about testing, but have yet to pass. In closing if any of my brethren out there are EMT's or Paramedics or know someone it the field that could assist me with my studies I would be greatful. Thank you and please have a wonderful day.

    Hello Brother Hanlen,
I've been an EMT-B for about 7 years now, my best advice would be to ask someone who has just passed the national registry test to help you study, the testing format would be fresh in their mind, they would be more apt to be able to help with things more pertinent to the NREMT test than on job experience. Good Luck!

    Hello Brother,

I am Norman Conway, I hail from Alpha Lodge #116 in East Orange NJ. I have an NREMT cert for EMT-B, and I had the same issues that you are currently experiencing. As brother Henry said, the practice test books pretty much cover everything that is on the test. It gets you oriented with the type of questioning that will be on the National Registry. Another thing though is to take it easy and just let everything sort of flow. My Worshipful Master expressed to me that all too often we are so consumed with getting everything done perfectly that we almost always cause ourselves to mess up in doing so. Hope this helps, and if you need any further details or help just let me know, i'll send you my contact info.

Hey Brother. Henry L Palmel Lodge #301 Wauwatosa,Wisconsin
I am National Registry Paramedic licenced in two states (Wisconsin, Kansas) and soon to be DC. The trick to studying is buying one of the books. go chapter by chapter in the sample test book and for each subject and read the entire chapter in the book. (ie read OB/GYN then do the test in the sample book) and do it until you get every question right.
